the speed of Wifi 6 is due to the two technologies:

• • MU-MIMO (Multiple-User, Multiple-In, Multiple-Out)
    MU-MIMO allows a router to engage with several devices simultaneously. This refers to the process of forming radio signals into “beams” using several antennas. It permits more data to be sent concurrently, allowing access points to manage several devices simultaneously. Although this was partially included in earlier versions of Wi-Fi, it is now standardized in Wi-Fi 6. With WiFi 6, it can connect to a maximum of eight devices.

• OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access)
  It increases overall network capacity and minimizes congestion and delay, enhancing the technology for time-sensitive industry 4.0 automation and VoIP use cases. It is a system that divides a WiFi spectrum into smaller subchannels to enable simultaneous broadcasts from different users. More and more terminal devices (such as mobile phones) have been upgraded to support Wi-Fi6 ability.

If a subscriber’s home Modem only support Wi-Fi5, the subscriber can only enjoy Wi-Fi5 performance even if the subscriber buys a Wi-Fi6 mobile phone, which restricts the full use of Wi-Fi6 terminals.

However, the Wi-Fi6 Modem is backward compatible with and supports Wi-Fi 5 terminals, which means future-ready. If a Wi-Fi6 Modem is deployed in a subscriber’s home, the subscriber can use both Wi-Fi5 and Wi-Fi6 mobile phones at the same time, or the subscriber does not need to replace the optical modem when purchasing a Wi-Fi6 mobile phone in the future.
