Converge ICT Solutions Inc, the country’s leading pure end-to-end fiber internet service provider, donated Php 5,000,000.00 worth of relief assistance to victims of Taal via the Provincial Government of Batangas yesterday, January 17, 2020. The said donation was handed over by the company’s President and CEO, Mr. Dennis Anthony Uy to Batangas Governor Hermilando “Dodo” Ingco Mandanas in a meeting held in Batangas Sports Complex, Batangas City. Also present in the said gathering was Pampanga Governor, Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
Aside from the mentioned relief donation, Uy has also committed to provide internet connectivity from command centers to critical sites that require close monitoring. This initiative can be critical in ensuring more efficient relief operations and can also allow victims to communicate with relatives outside of the area to some extent.
“As a Pampangueno, I’ve experienced the same hardship during Mount Pinatubo times some years back. Drawing from that, I know how each small effort, like what we did today, can really help those who are affected. Let’s try to make our kababayans experience better, experience hope. Everybody should be for everybody.” Uy has intimated.
While Taal’s volcanic activity has continued as of writing, the victims need pro-active efforts such as this to help them out in this time of need.
