Converge ICT Solutions Inc. President & CEO Dennis Uy has donated P5 million for the rehabilitation of the Ospital ng Angeles (ONA) last November 3.

Uy has vowed to support the rehabilitation of ONA, one of the cornerstones of the administration of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.

Uy earlier said he will donate the proceeds from the sale of old copper wire lines of the former Angeles City Cable Television Network (ACCTN). Converge ICT has already been taking down the old copper wire lines to give way to the end-to-end pure fiber optic technology.

“I am supporting the rehabilitation of ONA as part of Converge ICT’s social responsibility,” according to Uy, an Angeleno who started his business in Angeles City.

Uy has also vowed to provide free internet connection to all public schools in Angeles City in support of Lazatin’s digital transformation efforts for the education sector.

For his part, Lazatin said he will add more hospital rooms at ONA to accommodate more patients. ONA is one of the flagship projects, under his administration. “I believe that the only way to productivity and effectiveness is through a healthy citizenry.” Lazatin said.

“There is no stopping my administration from rehabilitating ONA so we can provide excellent health care services to our marginalized sectors,” said Mayor Lazatin.

“During the time of my father, ONA was able to provide good quality and even free services to marginalized people with only P500 million annual budget,” said Mayor Lazatin.

Mayor Lazatin has improved health services in the past four months since he assumed office. He has conducted visitations to sickly bed-ridden senior citizens where he brought in doctors and provided medicines; conducted anti-flu vaccination to senior citizens; Vitamin A supplementation to children; and facilitated door-to-door delivery of medicines to indigents.
